Hi there! We are delighted to announce the 7th edition of our successful ETH Cyber Group - Meet & Greet annual event, a great opportunity to connect with fellow students as well as many experts in the field of cybersecurity and share ideas in a warm and casual atmosphere.
This year's theme
Digital Identity: What It Takes to Be Trusted
Every day we prove who we are online: when we log in, sign a document, open an account or access a service. Digital identity is the set of information and credentials that lets others recognise us and decide whether to trust us, from names and dates of birth to ID documents and biometrics.
Making that trust work for millions of people and services is a hard problem. Identity data is valuable, sensitive and an attractive target for attackers.
Our speakers will tackle the challenge of trusting identity at scale from several angles.
Questions we will explore
- How do we prove who we are online?
- How can identity be verified at scale without over-exposing personal data?
- What roles do credentials, biometrics and consent play in building trust?
- What can go wrong when digital identities are attacked or abused?
About the event
The ETH Cyber Group Meet & Greet is our annual evening dedicated to connecting with the community driving innovation in the world of cyber. This year we celebrate its 7th edition.
It is a relaxed place to meet the next generation of cyber enthusiasts and experienced professionals, exchange ideas and start conversations that can lead to new professional relationships.
Expect keynote talks from experts, a hands-on group challenge and an apéro to wrap up the evening: a lot more than a simple networking event.

The evening
The Meet & Greet is much more than a simple networking event!
Step 1
Keynote talks
Experts give keynote talks about a specific topic in cybersecurity. They are meant to give you a glimpse of how things are done in the wild, foster your curiosity and help you in initiating conversations with experts and other fellow students.
Step 2
Now it's your turn
In small groups, you'll brainstorm a solution to a cybersecurity challenge we pose, then share your thoughts with the room.
Step 3
Apéro
Last but not least, we will conclude the evening with an apéro.
