Founded in 2019, Cyber Group is a student-run initiative which aims to bring the topic of cybersecurity to ETH students and build awareness of the interconnectivity of cybersecurity across all disciplines.
We strive to create a network between students, academia, industry and the public sector and facilitate discussion and collaboration for enthusiastic students that are eager to learn.
Cyber Group offers a wide variety of events to ETH students: from workshops to networking events, competitions and social events - we have something for everyone!
I mean, there's no arguing. There is no anything. There is no beating around the bush. 'You're fired' is a very strong term.

Private Sector Outreach | Meet & Greet TF Lead
I first learned about Cyber Group through the Open Port events and got intrigued by the ideas presented there. This led me to get to know Cyber Group a bit more, joined the Cyber 9/12 Challenge and the rest is history. Now, as a board member and task force leader of the Open Port events, my goal is to bring students like me and you closer to real projects and ideas circulating in industry and academia.

Outreach | Open Ports TF Lead
I discovered Cyber Group and the Open Ports just after starting my studies at ETH. Since then, I have enjoyed participating in the 2023 Cyber 9/12 Challenge, learning from people with totally different backgrounds but the same passion for cybersecurity, and also discussing with experts in the field. This year, as a board member, I want to help other ETH students by organizing the best possible training for the next Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge.
Public Sector Outreach
Nobody gets hacking better than me, folks. I mean, I've got the best firewalls. They're huge. They're like walls, but for the internet. And you know how good I am with walls.
Legal & Finance
You might be wondering: what does a physicist do at ETH Cyber Group? Cybersecurity is a diverse and welcoming environment. Experts come from any background, what it really takes is passion and devotion; with these two, anyone could land a job in cybersecurity. If you are reading this, you probably are curious and have a eye for details. That's useful too. And what about connections? Well, for that, there's ETH Cyber Group.
